I need someone to make me see what's good about Dickens. Arnold Bennet's great, and someone did eventually make me see what's good about Thackeray. But apart from Great Expectations, i could have never quite got on with Dickens. One day perhaps i'll grow into him.

Hey Warren - good to see you too. Do drop by and let us know what you think of Echoes.

Mand - lovely to meet you. Very good answer for the GUD comp, BTW - Joseph and I were talking about forgotten books in the car on the way home. I'd like a volume containing all the letters that Charles Dickens burned.

Could have sworn i left a comment here last night, but it's dematerialised.

Great to meet you both yesterday! Although i'd have loved to be at a reading, i was glad to avoid fighting through hordes of slavering fans. ;0)
Also v glad you hadn't (quite) run out of Echoes.

You were asking about the GUD Magazine comp question and my winning answer. They asked 'about one of the exotic, esoteric or simply banned books you'd hope to find in a hidden library'; the book I’d hide under my coat to bring out is the one Lucy read on the island of the voices in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader with its spell (among others) for knowing what your friends think about you (banned, as too dangerous for the likes of us). I have more ideas, which i'm saving to develop into something smallish.

I feel very lucky that GUD's readers seem to be almost all across the Pond.

Enjoy the rest of your book tour!

Great to meet you today Bill and Joseph. Thanks for the copy of Echoes, I'm looking forward to reading it. Kudos to the guy from Waterstones, the only thing greater than his beard is his taste in books!

Hi Ben - copies are pretty limited at the moment because Joseph, Mathew and I have had to pay for printing out of our own pocket - BUT there are plans for Echoes to be made available in a PDF format in the very near future. We should have review PDFs available very soon, so anyone interested in reviewing the chapbook - do get in touch.
